Funeral Advice

At Colin Phillips and Daughters Funeral Services we are here to help you plan a tailored send off. We help you plan the type of ceremony, unique for your loved one, from different religious ceremonies, celebration of life services and woodland burials. We will ensure that every aspect of the funeral services we provide are explained in detail, as a result, you can make informed decisions and plan the funeral according to your needs.

Burial or Cremation

We will discuss the very personal decision of choosing whether to opt for a burial or cremation, we are happy to take you through all the options available and the costings involved. We can guide and advise you on the different aspects of burials from existing plots to alternative settings. A loved one may have left wishes to be cremated and scattered in a special location, again we can discuss any permissions that are involved with this.

Coffins & Caskets

While this can be a distressing decision, it’s important that those closest to the deceased are involved in choosing their coffin, casket or urn. This decision can often help with the bereavement process and is an important part of your funeral arrangements. We have used trusted suppliers for many years and can supply solid oak coffins and oak veneered coffins as well as ethically produced eco coffins such as cardboard, Willow, Bamboo, Wool or Banana Leaf.

Practical Services

From our initial meeting we are here to help with arranging all the services that are required to make your chosen funeral service the perfect unique day to remember your loved one. Flowers for the service can personalise the ceremony, we can arrange flowers for the hearse, place of service or casket, all locally sourced and tailor-made to order. We can advise you with all aspects of the order of service choosing from themed designs, they can be personalised to reflect the passions or hobbies of the deceased using photographs, particular readings or hymns, creating a cherished keepsake commemorating the life of your loved one. During our consultations with you we can advise on memorial masonry, design, inscription, churchyards regulations etc.

Transport Fleet

For many people the ‘funeral cortege’ is still one of the most important aspects of the funeral. On site we own a number of Limousines and a brand new Mercedes Benz Hearse. We have years of experience arranging specific transport requests from a motorbike hearse, horse drawn carriage to a pink hearse, we can explain all the options available to you and the costings involved. We will go through details, such as who would like to travel in the cortege, the route you will take to the ceremony and the display of floral tributes.

Private Chapel

The decision to view a loved one at a Chapel of Rest will be the family’s choice. There’s no requirement for you to visit the deceased in the chapel of rest. But visiting your loved one and saying a final goodbye, can be incredibly comforting. Our privately owned Chapel of Rest is situated on the outskirts of Cardigan town centre overlooking the river Teifi, we offer a private viewing room, catering for funeral services of all denominations.
